About Us

Hi there, thanks so much for stopping by! We're Fern and Leo, a couple of conservation biologists, interpretive guides, bird nerds, hikers, plant collectors, photographers, writers, and...you get the idea.

Fern holds a BS in Conservation Biology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF). She is also certified as an Interpretive Guide (CIG) through the NAI and has professional experience working as a naturalist. She loves tropical ecology, primates, marine mammals, birds, butterflies, bats, and a host of freaky fungi and unusual plants. She is a photographer, artist, and writer rooted in ecopsychology and ecofeminism. Leo also holds his BS in Conservation Biology from SUNY ESF. He's a bird buff, ecology enthusiast, and has professional experience with endangered ferns, invasive species management, and sustainable agriculture. We've created this space as a bridge between the human and the wild. It's a space for learning about nature, wildlife, and the beautiful planet we are a part of. It's also a space for sharing and inspiring deeper, meaningful connections to the natural world.
